Air Vanuatu resumes flights from Auckland from July

Air Vanuatu announces new schedule as Vanuatu’s border reopens to international travellers, with direct flights from Auckland resuming in July.

Air Vanuatu, the national carrier for Vanuatu, will resume its services to the nation’s capital, Port Vila from Auckland in July, as Vanuatu reopens its border to international travellers 1 July 2022. Air Vanuatu will operate a twice-weekly non-stop service (3hr 15 flight duration) on Boeing 737 from Auckland to Port Vila on Wednesday and Saturday departing 1210, commencing 2 July 2022. Air Vanuatu will also resume flights from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney to Port Vila as of 1 July.

Flights are now available for sale network wide on or via travel agent partners. Vanuatu will open its borders to fully-vaccinated international travellers from 1 July, 2022 with no quarantine, with travellers able to book flights to Port Vila from today with Air Vanuatu. Air Vanuatu Chief Executive Officer, Atu Finau, says the 1 July border opening is welcome news for the national carrier.

“The reopening of Vanuatu to international leisure travellers from 1 July is a major milestone we have been looking forward to and it will be great to see Kiwi travellers return to Vanuatu,” Mr Finau said. “Flying with Air Vanuatu means passengers enjoy a warm Vanuatu welcome from the moment passengers step onboard and we are delighted to recommence our services from Auckland from July.”

Air Vanuatu is a full-service airline including onboard wifi streaming entertainment to personal smart devices and complimentary inflight service including meals and bar service. Passengers are greeted with the brightest smiles in the South Pacific as soon as they step foot on the plane.
